I have always been drawn to the visual and the little beauties all around us as well as the grand. It evokes emotion and story for me. The camera has been my paintbrush and pen to capture these moments and stories. And it also helps me to keep a slow enough pace to see and hear — even with energetic pups in tow (I have learned talent for holding a dog and camera still simultaneously ). I identify strongly with Michelangelo’s description of his art “The best artist has that thought alone which is contained within the marble shell; The sculptor’s hand can only break the spell To free the figures slumbering in the stone.”

My work has been in juried shows, galleries and commercial and personal collections. I now primarily present my work in settings which gives me the ability to talk and show my work 1:1 with visitors. While I believe viewers should have their own interpretations of my work, I find they enjoy hearing my story about the work with me personally. This is why I love participating in the TAO Studio Tour. One on one connections with people that love seeing and meeting the local artists.

My fine art photography is complemented with my studio and on location photography — I’ve capture the candids, personalities and individual stories of people. In this vein I am the Taos County Chamber of Commerce photographer, a proven go-to photographer for local business, photographer for the Taos Pueblo Pow Wow, visitors and events … and lots more. In short, the camera is my medium — both for art and expression as well as natural and candid capture of people.
