I have been taking photographs since 1967 when I appropriated my father’s Nikon. With it, I circumnavigated the world on a floating university while in college. I later served 2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia during a very turbulent time in its history, camera in hand. Since moving to New Mexico in 1988, I have dedicated myself to capturing its unmatched beauty.
I studied black and white photography at the International Center of Photography in New York City where I lived for twelve years and more recently, the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops.
Published in New Mexico Magazine, my photographs have also been displayed at the Tularosa Basin Gallery of Photography in Carrizozo, New Mexico.
I have exhibited in the 2017 – 2021 Annual New Mexico Photographic Art Show (ANMPAS) in Albuquerque where I won a Judge’s Choice award in 2020. I also won third place in an international photography competition sponsored by the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops and honorable mention in the “Monochrome Awards” another international competition. For the last three years, I have displayed photographs at the Taos Fall Arts Festival. The Ashton Gallery in San Diego, California and the Western Gallery in Dallas, Texas also represented his work.
My photographs are also in private collections in New Mexico, Colorado, California, New York, Texas, Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and The Netherlands.

I have a passion for telling the story of New Mexico in captivating black and white photography. My emotional, dramatic photographs evoke a thought-provoking, soulful response. My work reimagines the stunning beauty of the southwest, revealing the essence of its subjects and its viewers. I constantly explore beautiful landscapes, villages and towns, art, culture, history, and people through heart and lens.
My photography can be summed up in two words: “Shuttering Experiences”
